What We Believe
Although SMP is a Christian Church, you don’t have to be a committed Christian to join us on Sundays. We would love to welcome you whether you’re curious about Jesus or just new to Paris.
We are:
Anglican. We belong to a family of churches beyond our local church. With Anglicans across Europe, we inherited a rich tradition of prayer and worship which we seek to contextualise for today and safeguard for future generations.
Evangelical. The Bible, as God’s Word written, is central to all we believe and do. Our only hope and joy is found in Christ and his cross, and we want to help others find that hope too. We trust that God’s Spirit is active in his people today, encountering them in worship, transforming their character and empowering their witness for the glory of Christ.
International. Although our roots are in the British expat community, our church family is drawn from cultures and countries across God’s world. We are on a journey of becoming a more authentically international community, united by our love for Jesus and his gospel.
We love France and believe that God has placed us here in the centre of the great city of Paris to pray and work for its peace and prosperity, and the flourishing of its people.
